Usher wins his two kids after custody battle with ex-wife
Here's something you don't see every day: The ex-husband -- in this case, Usher -- wins the primary custody battle over the ex-wife.
The Associated Press reports that Grammy-winning R&B singer Usher and his ex, Tameka Foster Raymond, will share legal custody but Usher will have the primary caregiving role for Usher Raymond V, 4, and Naviyd Ely Raymond, 3, beginning Sept. 1.
The decision was made by a judge in Atlanta on Friday. Tameka Raymond will have visitation rights but the details of that have not been determined yet.
No one is talking today but it would be fair to say the decision is a blow to Tameka Raymond, whose 11-year-old son, Kile Glover, died last month in a boating accident on a Georgia lake.
She and the singer, whose real name is Usher Raymond IV, married in 2007, divorced two years later, and have been battling in court ever since. Usher testified in May that during one visit, Tameka Raymond got into a fight with his girlfriend; Tameka Raymond's lawyer said he was exaggerating.
